U.S. donated 24 F-16 jets fighter to Indonesia

United States asserted that 24 F-16 that is no longer on services will be given fully, not sold, to Indonesia. However, for the updating of two dozen former jet it would cost about U.S. $ 750 million, about Rp6, 7 trillion.

The agreement grants the F-16 it was announced jointly by President Barack Obama and President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono in a meeting ahead of the East Asia Summit in Bali, 18 November 2011. This agreement is expected to be signed in early 2012 and, up the White House, when all the affairs of the formalities completed then the U.S. will send F-16s that have been upgraded to Indonesia in July 2014, as requested by Jakarta.

Updates include 24 units and 28 units of aircraft engines Pratt-Whitney F-100-PW-200 or F-100PW-220E. It also set up six units of F-16 (four Block 25 and two Block 15) for backup.
